This month’s meeting has a special presentation: “Customizing and Detailing Your Project”, by Jim Hagberg.
Many of you are aware, particularly during the “I Built It” event, that Jim Hagberg has a talent and flare for customizing and detailing both ARF and built-up models. He favors applying a Navy theme to many of his models, equips them with special running and landing gear lights, as well as applying other creative and unique additions, which turns an otherwise ho-hum model into a real eye catcher. This month’s meeting has a special presentation: “Understanding and Programming Spektrum AS3X and SAFE Technology”, by Brian Blois.
Spektrum’s “AS3X” and “SAFE” receiver features and programming capabilities represent a quantum leap in RC technology, particularly as they pertain to beginners and training programs. These features and capabilities make is possible for a person, with virtually no RC experience, to have instant success flying an RC plane. Brian Blois is a factory representative and sponsored pilot of Horizon Hobby. Brian will be explaining the details and differences between “AS3X” and “SAFE”, the advantages and benefits of utilizing these Rx features, and answer questions about programming, enabling/disabling, etc. We also hope to have a series of “hands-on” seminars at the field, with Brian, later in the spring.Find out more »
This month’s meeting has a special presentation: “Fiberglass/Composite Repair and Re-finishing”, by Dan Underkofler.
Dan is an expert model building and flyer. He has developed and perfected techniques to repair and refinish damaged fiberglass and composite fuselages and wings with stunning results. Additionally, Dan’s work has a keen eye toward conserving weight. Many projects are completed with remarkably little additional weight. Dan will be presenting projects he’s recently completed, techniques used and results achieved.Find out more »
