West Runway Improvement Project Donation Drive
Thank you for considering helping to fund the West runway improvement project by donating to the project. Any amount will be greatly appreciated! donations can be provided by check or online using a credit or debit card via Square.
The approved design, as presented at the May members meeting, will:
- Width: Increase by 15′ (1 geotex roll width)
- Expand to south, utilizing space where partial strip now exists.
- 2′ aprons on north and south sides (crushed concrete)
- 100′ length increase (to 460′).
- Length to be added to East end which will make the runway more symmetrical with respect to pilot stations. It will also minimize cross-runway seams!
- 25′ runoffs on each end (crushed concrete)
- Remove 4 concrete helipads. Pilots should already stand in/by pilot stations. The East and west helipads will remain
- Runway markings:
- Xs on both ends
- Centerline
- Pattern “box” lines
- Starting benches move closer to flight line
- Astro-turf walkway from parking lot to runway
The new layout sketch is shown below. Darker areas are new material. It does not show runoffs and aprons. The walkway to be done with astro-turf.

Non-cash donations
Periodically, members contact us when downsizing, and friends and family of recently passed modelers call us about their loved ones’ items. Non-cash donations such as RC aircraft or parts are welcome and are often used at silent auctions or club raffles. If you have such items, please contact the Donations Coordinator through the contact us page.
