 AAM Weather Station Information

The AAM weather station is a unique solution to a unique problem.  There is no electrical power or hard line internet service at our remote flying site and the weather at our location is in it's own mirco-climate next to the foothills where winds can be blowing 40 mph while conditions are calm just a few miles away.

Through the use of modern technologies - the weather station and web camera is 100% Solar Powered, runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is connected direct to the internet via wireless internet service from Arvada Wireless - Aim High Inc.  The entire station including interent service, webcam, station hardware, and the weather pc only use, on average, about 1.25 amps or just under 16 watts.

The AAM Airpark features 2 flying fields, West and East, and the actual weather station sits between the two fields giving us live weather conditions at the airpark and saving members hours of lost time by providing  the ability to check the weather prior to packing all those planes and equipment up and heading out to the field.
