Arvada Associated Modelers Airpark is located just off Colorado Highway 93 between Leyden Road (W. 84th Avenue) and 64th Avenue. Pioneer Sand and AAM use the same entrance from the highway. Follow the signs and follow the gravel road for about ¾ mile to our 2 runways. The "West Field" has a gravel runway, 650’ X 50’ and recently improved in 2007 along with a RC car track. The "East Field" has huge 750’ X 50’ concrete runway.  We also have a new control line field built in 2007. Each runway has a covered pavilion with picnic tables for spectator enjoyment. Gas grills are available for use as well. State-of-the-art frequency control stations are provided at each field and are electrically connected with a very unique design to provide optimum control and safety for RC transmissions.

Frequently Asked Questions

At What time of day can I fly?

I’ve heard that question often lately so here is the answer. Our lease with the City of Arvada IS the controlling document and states the following:

“Operation and activities shall be conducted only during daylight hours or between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., whichever is less, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the City’s Manager of Urban and Park Design.”

Frequency control shack posted airpark rule #19 consistently states from 8:00 a.m. until sunset at the East Field and Starting at 7:00 a.m. at the West Field. What about night flying? That is covered by the special permission with the Manager of Urban and Park Design. So please do adhere to these lease requirements and thanks for your understanding.

AMA membership is required to fly at the field and if you are not a member of Arvada Associated Modelers we invite your to come out and take some sample flights as our guest. If you are not an AMA member, come on out anyway and enjoy the excitement of radio controlled flying and enjoy our great facility. If you are interested in learning how to fly, AAM has a great instructional program with planes, controls and personal instruction available at no cost.
