On behalf of the Board of Directors of AAM, I would like to address the questions regarding the RM3DT and correct a few misstatements regarding the proposed event. First, it is completely untrue and incorrect that the application for the RM3DT was not approved based on the nature of the event. The event itself was not voted down. Rather, the application for the event was simply not approved.

Second, the Board is not opposed (in any way) to 3D flying. In fact, your Board of Directors is charged with promoting diversity amongst AAM members and encourages the safe participation of any activities (to the greatest extent possible) that they pursue and engage in.

Additionally, the Board does not discriminate against any person (or group of persons), for any reason, desiring to be a member of AAM, and to utilize the Air Park, provided that such persons abide by all of the conditions, rules and regulations, laws, by-laws, etc. that AAM is obligated to abide by, or which itself has created to regulate use of the Air Park.

It would be inappropriate for the Board to provide any specific information, in a public forum, regarding its decisions. However, the Event Application for the RM3DT was carefully considered and took into consideration numerous factors with regard to the attributes and execution of the event including: historic event management and safety; potential benefits to all AAM members; community attributes/concerns, potential cost/revenue to AAM; and others.

The Board had ample reasons to reject this application none of which had anything to do with 3D flying itself or any of the participants of past events. The reasons that the application was rejected were based solely on the best interests of AAM. Those reasons were clearly specified and availed to the Event Director. Further, the Event Director was invited to address the concerns and appeal the Board’s decision.

Lastly, I would like to address the removal of selected posts appearing in the RM3DT thread. It is inappropriate to use profanity or to direct strongly negative comments or dialogue toward individuals or groups of individuals appearing on the AAM Forum regarding any subject. Such behavior is not tolerated in many other forums and public websites and will not be tolerated on the AAM Forum.

Huckfest events:
June 7th - 10th - Lincoln Sky Knights - Lincoln, Nebraska (8 hours away, or 500 miles)

June 21th - 24th -Rc Aces - Black Hills, South Dakota (7 hours away, or 400 miles)

We also have 4 (!) IMAC competitions this year:

April 14th - Love-Air, Ault Colorado

May 5th - Lamar Steen, Brighton Colorado

June 2nd - LAMA, Dacono, Colorado

August 4th - Mile High, Strasburg, Colorado

There is a chance there could be another local 3D event this year as well, and I am working out the possibilities with that events coordinator (105).

I have applied for July 27,28, and 29 for this years RM3DT.

So- I know only a few locals will see this thread, but we really need to reach out to the local 3D Community and get some backing here. I'm the driving force behind this little event, and I need some input.
