Board Reports
Program – “How-To Guide to Mastering the Rudder”, Joe Pirozzoli
This program is designed to provide “tips”, “tricks” and “drills” that can help improve, or even
master, use of the rudder. Improving rudder skill improves your flying and will help you master
crosswind landings and lead to better aerobatic capability!
Bring a transmitter… we will use visual aids and your transmitter to teach some basic
techniques!!
Annual “I Built It” Contest (Larry Green/John Welch)
Larry Green and John Welch (once again) are putting on the annual “I Built-it Contest”. The
categories for this year’s IBI will be:
• Scratch Built
• Kit Built
• ARF
• Old Timer
• Member’s Choice
• Best of Show
There will be certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all categories except Member’s Choice and Best
of Show. So, dust off that project you have been dying to show off and we will see you in May.

Jets Over the Rockies
New for 2024 at AAM: JETS OVER THE ROCKIES
Join us for 3 days of fun and flying with Turbine, EDF, and Turbo-prop aircraft.
Awards for: Best of Show, Pilots Choice, Best Sport, Best Military, and Best Junior Pilot
$30 entry fee
AAM East field will be closed to normal flying these 3 days. West field and CL circle open.

Colorado Pattern Challenge
This is your invitation to attend the 15th Annual Colorado Pattern Challenge (CPC) hosted by Arvada Associated Modelers (AAM).
Dates: June 14 – 16, 2024 (field open on Friday 6/14, and dedicated all day for pattern practice only).
Events: AA Pattern contest for RC Aerobatics for Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced, Masters and FAI (Silver and P&F) (please see attached flyer below).
Entry Fee: $45 – As always, lunch and refreshments will be provided (at no cost) on Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
EDF Pattern: There will be 2 classes, each will fly 3 rounds for the weekend (additional cost $5). More to come on that later.
NOTE: Once again food is provided by Annie’s Cantina!

Additional EDF Pattern Event
Entry for EDF pattern will be an additional $5. There will be 2 classes, each will fly 3 rounds for the weekend. We’ll do the EDF classes (1 on each line) right after 2 rounds of AMA and FAI. I will have 1 winner’s trophy for each class. Details to follow regarding the sequences and classes. Please note, there will be new EDF sequences this year. If you plan to fly EDF, please let me know.

Other Notes and Information
Don’t forget that we (like most everyone else) utilize contestant judging… so please review your rulebook and help out (if asked) at the various contests throughout the season.

Camping at AAM Airpark
Campers and RVs are welcome, no hookups or A/C power, but we do have a solar battery charging station (with brand new batteries). Field will be open for practice all week… contact me for a gate code if you’re coming in early. Come as early as you like and stay as long as you want (no restrictions this year)! See additional information below for off-site camping options.
